About Our Skin Peels and Treatment Intensities
Skin Peels can produce a dramatic change to the skin in a very short period of time. Your skin is unique, and constantly changing. A consultation is necessary to determine the right peel for your current skin condition in order to achieve your individual goals. The following is a brief overview to familiarize you with our different skin peel intensities. We will help you make an informed decision as to the peel best suited for your needs.
Progressive
This refers to a light skin peel ideally suited for mild skin resurfacing needs. There is no visible peeling that takes place, more of a gentle dissolving of surface skin to refresh, tighten and brighten the skin. Visible changes can be seen after the first treatment, and results are cumulative. Quick and affordable selections are available for virtually all skins. An initial series of 6 weekly treatments are recommended for optimal results.
Mid Depth
These peels affect deeper layers of skin, and exfoliation occurs within 2-3 days after application. Temporary skin discoloration can occur and peeling consists of light but visible flaking and peeling similar to a sunburn. These peels are recommended for age spots, sun damage, large pores, and coarser skin texture.
Deep
These peels affect the deepest epidermal layers of skin. The skin undergoes considerable peeling, which usually occurs 3-4 days after application. The entire process takes about 7-10 days. There is some down time because generally on days 3 and 4, skin is discolored and unsightly. The skin peels heavily. The results can be dramatic. This is the treatment of choice for wrinkles, aging and devitalized skins. A follow-up visit is necessary 7-10 days post peel.
